The first one that popped up on the list was the Mamosa Golf and Country Club,... it's the old Clark AFB Golf Course ya big dork. I remember as a kid walking the course with pops, and bailing out on him at the 9th hole. It was the short cut to our house on base. I've thought of those times often. The smell of his cigars. The NCO Club. Swimming pools. Many years ago. Then, there you are. Punched up the ol web search for Clark Field,... BAM! Transported back visually in time to 1965. First grade. That's me down at the bottom right. What a rush. I'm working in Indonesia now. The nationals I supervise got a good kick lookin at me from 34 years ago. I have 4 kids of my own now. We'll go back to Clark this year. I'll show them where their grandfather used to manage the NCO Club, golf and smoke those cigars. And I'll pass on history to them. |

He and my Bro Sean McDaniel (83) are living just north of Austin, TX. in a suburb named Pflugerville(where I spent my Senior year). The time that I spent at Wagner seems like a lifetime ago. I attended Wurtsmith (72-73), Grissom (73-75), Lily Hill (77-78), Wagner Middle (78-79), and Wagner High (79-81). The only one that I did not attend was MacArthur. Played football in the junior league ..... Bills (78), Cardinals (79), and the first place Eagles (80). Saw alot of old names of many 'not' forgotton friends. I really wished to have graduated from Wagner, but as Uncle Sam would have it, it was not to be. Thus, I had to go to a 'Civilian Hell-Hole.'
