Reunion III

During the course of Friday evening's events, we managed to accomplish and learn a few things:

We made a wonderful new friend, and adopted lola. Lola Wilma and her husband were traveling with Elderhostel and decided to spend the night in Lompoc because lolo was sick. Once we explained to them what we were doing and why (and fed them some lumpia) they were all ours. They loved hearing stories, asked lots of questions and smiled every time they saw us. What a warm, wonderful person.  We handed out the web address and she promised to check in and sign the guestbook when she gets home in a couple of weeks.

We also discovered Kat is a VERY "sound" sleeper. Poor baby gurl was so tired, she feel asleep on one of the couches in the hospitality suite. And she slept there for quite a while. Until the commotion of Webby's arrival woke her.

We now Lisa Dobbs Crook and Pammy Mac will sneak out, saying they'll be back. But they won't  come back. They just disappear!

We now know Gerri must eat before she comes out to play with the Falcons.

Sweet Baby James should check with the list of who's coming before convincing someone to come with him. He brought his friend Anders so Anders would be able to see some of SBJ's high school friends. Alas, there were no other 90s fledglings in the nest this weekend. Steve (87) was the closest and I (82) was next. Big time span there.

But that boy had some wonderful stories to tell. And we all laughed to see which teachers were around "forever."

SATURDAY
On Saturday, we split up to drive to Solvang, or as Dary calls it "Danish Hell." Picture a night mare for Dary: A town full of mostly old, almost exclusively white, Northern Europeans and not a St. Pauli girl in sight!

Splitting up meant some of us never did find the rest, but we survived.  Dary sez he almost feel down laughing when Harold told someone to meet them under the windmill (lots and lots of windmills).

I don't know about the rest of you, but Rick, Steve, my friend Maj. Heather and I had a nice walk, some good shopping and a nice lunch (thanks, Rick)  In fact, when Heather's husband asked her about her day, she told him it was great. "I saw Kimmy, met new people and a man I'd just met bought me lunch. Not a bad day."

From Solvang, our little group went to Babcock Winery, where we proceeded to act like we knew what they were talking about, bought wine and headed back.

NEXT: The dinner, and Julie Balidio's arrival................
