Charleston
Greetings all, I had such a great time in Colorado Springs, I never thought anything could top that. Guess what - Charleston was even better !! It was great seeing the folks I had met at previous reunions but even better getting to know the rest of you. I made so many new friends from all of the classes. If any of you are ever in the Washington DC area let me know ... we can have a "mini reunion". Jerry Long was making noises about some reunion thing here in October. We will keep you posted.

I took 7 rolls of pictures, I think, I haven't finished unpacking yet. I will be sending copies to John next week, I hope.

I got home on Monday and didn't want to go back to work. I was just as hard to concentrate as it was before the reunion. I feel like I have aged at least 35 years since I have been back, from 16 to 50 plus in a few days.

I also want to tell you what Boris, the TLC camera guy, told me. He said that the reason it was so hot on the Yorktown was ... "there are so many warm hearts".

Many thanks to all of you warm hearts.

Vicki '64 (62-65)

This certainly bears repeating!

Really enjoyed the walking tour with you Vicki, we were real survivers!

Beautiful, just beautiful! Thanks for sharing his quote with us. The amount of warmth radiating from all the love being expressed in Charleston was tremendous and filled that void we all felt in our hearts until we were reunited with our classmates.

Thanks for all your hard work in Charleston, Vicki. Look forward to seeing you again soon!

Hey Vicki,

Linda and I really enjoyed seeing you again in Chas. She talks so often about how we met you and Ruth in the Dallas airport last year when we were enroute to Colorado Springs. :)

I regret that we didn't have a lot of time to visit so you have to promise that you will jump in more often here on the list, we really enjoy your posts.

Promise???? Thanks for all the things you did to help at Chas. :)

Ron Bonner '65 (61-63)

I would like to echo Vicki's words. Chas was great and the warm heart were even better!

I wasn't able to say good bye to everyone on Sun - we left the hotel with a friend/customer, his boss, builder & all their wives & went to the Charleston Place hotel for brunch. Very nice hotel! After that Ed & I just wandered around downtown & went to the airport. So, instead of good bye, as someone posted earlier, Via Con Dios to you all. What I didn't get to do was pick up my '65 yearbook, class picture & '65 Commencement Program. John, do you have them for scanning? Vicki, did you see them? If someone has them, please let me know - don't want to lose them at this point!

I've been off Internet for this week & came dack to a bizillion great posts about the reunion & the wonderful news about John and Susan. The joy just keeps on coming! After last week, I needed it! I came back to the news first thing Mon that our landlord has relatives coming back to town & we have to get out of our apt Sept. 1! So, I've been scrambling all week to find a new place - not easy to find a furnished two-month rental with large dog! Try it sometime! Anyway, did find one in Hsbg very close to where we are building. So, it should work out - first rule of bratdom - be flexible and ready to move at the drop of a hat!!
Linda '65 - even more homeless now than in Chas!

THANK YOU!!!

We enjoyed the trip and, more importantly, meeting you and the rest of the ancient ones (said with the utmost respect, honest!!).....as for the help, it was the LEAST i could do considering the *hospitality* that was afforded to me and alex!!!....he's as wiped out as i am!!! don't know about PC yet.......we'll just have to *play it by ear*..........(or harmonica, guitar, mandolin.......etc.....<g>........) Thanks, again, for an outstanding reunion!!!

Charleston Reunion and Ron was the first person I hugged
I"M BACK!!!Oh I think I told you that last night. Roger (the Airman I dated in the PI) and I arrived in Charleston at about 2:30pm on Thursday. I didn't meet anyone in the lobby so we went to our room where Roger decided the bed looked pretty good after the long drive. NOT me, I was off to the lobby to search for others. If I get names wrong I'm sorry, just remember I loved everyone there. I wandered around not seeing anyone I recognized. Finally I over heard the magic words--School Reunion---Clark---ME TOO. There was Linda Key Langley and I knew her as one of my online buddies. From there on the people keep coming. Thursday was really an adventure because we didn't get name tags til Friday. Some were smart enough to wear theirs from last year. I was really embarrased when I had to ask Liz Cain who she was---I KNEW who she was but CRS set in at that moment. It was so great she got there. She sure can brighten up a room when she flys in. Thursday night the Senior Seniors who were there got so caught up in visiting that they forgot to eat so spouse Gene Brown of Jean Whitman Brown had some pizza delivered. Thanks Gene. It was hard to remember to eat the whole time we were there.

Friday more people arrived and we got our nametags--now I could quit hidding when I saw someone I knew I was suppose to know :). All day Friday we laughed and cried as people came in. Some we had not seen in over 40 years. Friday evening we has our coctail party at the pool. Lloyd Mandel and his band played. They were not just good they were great.

Saturday night we had our dinner and dance on the Yorktown. The shrimp and scallops were soooo good.

I got to meet Jenny, Ardis, Woody, Alex, Susan, Salli, AND Gaye. Such a nice and fun group. I didn't mention Gary cause I already knew him from COS. Finally I can put faces to names.

I forgot---how could I forget that the filming crew for The Learning Channel was there--all the time. Got so we could ignor them most of the time but they would put that camera up your nose-----why did they want pictures of your nasal hairs?

Dianne Senn Mandel out did herself--everything was great and I hope she really got to enjoy herself. You will hear more as I remember it.
