I got da post-reunion blues
Post-Reunion Blu-u-u-es (a sort of a song)
Hadda wash my t-shirt today;
Only wore it for a week.
And hadda wash my face today;
All them kisses on my cheek
Went right down the drain and into the sewer;
Don't know how my life could get any bluer.

{refrain}
O the post-reunion blues got me down;
The post-reunion blues goin' round;
If things don't get bettah pretty soon,
I'm gonna go out & howl at the moon.
.
My honey is transferred & I gotta go;
Got no government helpers;
got to do this on my own;
The cats are all sick & I got the flu;
Now hubbie says I gotta ditch the tattoo.

{refrain}
O the post-reunion blues got me down;
The post-reunion blues goin' round;
If things don't get bettah pretty soon,
I'm gonna go out & howl at the moon.
.
O bring back my Charleston with all of the Char sisters,
O bring back my friends & all of our dance-blisters;
O bring back Prunier & all the mushy stuff Of 30 years ago --
I haven't had enuff Shrieking & crying & music that blares;
Like kids on a Senior Trip without any cares.

{refrain}
O the post-reunion blues got me down;
The post-reunion blues goin' round;
If things don't get bettah pretty soon,
I'm gonna go out & howl at the moon.

Whew!!!!!
I have to take a few minutes to say how very much we enjoyed being with everyone in Charleston. We had built up such anticipation prior to actually going, it's a long way back down to earth.

Bob & I left Jacksonville, FL about 7a.m. Thurs, hoping to meet Dianne S. at the Hilton prior to going to the airport to Welcome Home our classmates. I have driven this entire beautiful country from east to west, north to south many times, even alone on occasions. However, this trip was different from any of the others. After breakfast, I got behind the wheel, put on some great "barbershop music," and while Bob was reading the paper, I charged full steam ahead, about an hour later, Bob remarked "why are the mileage markers going down?" Hummm...can't imagine. Long story short - I had to make a U-turn and head north as I was almost back in Jax. This put a kink in my plans as now we would be doing good to get to the airport to meet the first arrivals. I had this sick sick feeling, couldn't believe it, I had told everyone We Would Be There. We did make it!

First person we met was Tom Sellers, what a gentleman! We quickly told him why we were there, shared our excitement, and next thing know HERE THEY COME! From that moment till we left Charleston about 11:30 Sun, my feet never quite touched the ground. Renewing old friendships, creating new ones. Meeting people I felt I already knew from the Internet. Introducing our spouses. Looking at all the wonderful yearbooks and things collected. So hard to think of just a couple of hi- lights.

Our thanks to everyone that made the reunion a reality. The hours of hard work, planning, seeing to it that our every need was supplied, from ice in the hospitality room to fine spread and great music on Fri nite, down the long sidewalk to the huge Yorktown, to our parting breakfast time, Bob & I want to say Thanks! He understands a little better now the feelings we all have towards each other and shares in that now, looks forward to the next one. Hope our message makes it on The Learning Channel, it's such a wonderful story.

Still the Reunion!
Okay Everyone!

How come it is that I talked all weekend, went without sleep, hardly ate a bite until the banquet, and still I did not get to spend alot of time with everyone??? I feel like I met so many people I did not have a face to put a name with, and many old friends that were so very special, but just did not get around to everyone! Maybe that is why we have to have future reunions!?! I thought for sure that we would run out of things to talk about on about the second day of the weekend, but not so!

Mike did very well in getting A LOT of video. In some of it, a word cannot be understood because of the music or everybody talking, but the whole idea is there, if anyone wants to see it. We will bring it to the next reunion, also, if possible!

THANKS AGAIN to all who made it possible. I have more to say, but must sign off now since we are getting a good storm here in Washington State, and Mike said I had better turn off the computer.
